Mas Group Africa CEO Explores Export Opportunities for Ugandan Processed Goods

Moscow, Russia – In a recent courtesy meeting between Dr. Mas Yunus Masaba, CEO of Mas Group Africa an African business conglomerate headquartered in Kampala, Uganda, and the Ugandan Ambassador to Russia, His Excellency Kizige Moses at the Ugandan Embassy in Moscow.  Discussions not only centered on diplomatic insights and youth but also delved into the potential export opportunities for Ugandan goods in the Russian market.

The dialogue touched upon strategic avenues for boosting trade between Uganda and Russia, with a particular focus on leveraging the Russian market for Ugandan exports, especially finished goods. Masaba highlighted the untapped potential for Ugandan entrepreneurs to tap into the vast Russian market, presenting opportunities for the exportation of processed and value-added agricultural products.

One of the key areas of interest identified during the discussion was the exportation of Ugandan coffee, renowned globally for its rich flavor and premium quality. Masaba emphasized the potential for Ugandan coffee producers to explore value addition and processing techniques, thereby enhancing the product’s appeal in the Russian market. The Ambassador highlighted the demand for organic fruits from the African coordinate and indicated that they are highly demanded in the Russian market.  

Ambassador Kizige echoed Masaba’s sentiments, recognizing the significance of promoting Ugandan exports in Russia, particularly value-added agricultural products. He emphasized the need for strategic partnerships and collaborations between Ugandan exporters and Russian distributors to facilitate market penetration and increase product visibility.

The meeting shed light on the immense opportunities that exist for Ugandan entrepreneurs to showcase their products in the Russian market, capitalizing on the demand for high-quality goods. Masaba expressed his commitment to exploring avenues for collaboration and market entry strategies, leveraging his network and expertise to facilitate trade between Uganda and Russia. He also hinted at the need for Russian businesses to look into partnering with Ugandan entrepreneurs and business persons for investments in Uganda. 

The exportation of processed and value-added agricultural products, such as coffee, presents a promising avenue for Ugandan businesses to expand their reach and contribute to the country’s economic growth.
