Leading the Charge in Empowering Sports and Community Engagement
As the eagerly awaited kickoff of Jico League Season 2 approached, Mas Group Africa proudly announced its unwavering commitment to advancing the realm of sports through strategic sponsorships. The new season for Jinja College Alumni kicked off on 25th November 2023 at Volta Arena Kyanja one of the sports facilities owned by Mas Group Africa. Taking a giant leap, evolving from sponsoring just two teams in the previous season to being the main shirt sponsors for an expanded roster of 5 additional teams: Mbokya FC, Kaboige FC, LXG 04, Solida FC and Nvuluga SC. These strategic partnerships, facilitated in collaboration with Track 24, underscore Mas Group Africa’s dedication to realizing the league’s objectives and fostering a heightened sense of competition among teams. The CEO of Mas Group Africa Dr. Masaba Yunus revealed that sports and especially football is one area of interest for the conglomerate and extending sponsorships to teams helps the company bond further with the communities.
Noteworthy in this endeavor is Volta Arena Kyanja, a subsidiary of Mas Group Africa, which proudly stands as the league’s home, solidifying the corporation’s enduring commitment to the Jico League. This move not only amplifies the brand’s presence within the league but also establishes a tangible connection with the heart of the sporting action. These sponsorships have seen Mas Group invest over Uganda Shillings 80 million in 2023 in different sponsorship packages to different Alumni Football leagues.
Building upon the success of the previous season, where Mas Group Africa and Track 24 sponsored two teams, the benefits derived from increased brand visibility have been substantial. The strategic placement of Mas Group Africa’s logos on the jerseys of diverse teams has resulted in widespread recognition, reaching a diverse audience that proudly dons these jerseys. This heightened visibility extends beyond the playing field, as Mas Group Africa’s logos prominently feature on league artworks, further elevating the brand’s status.
Beyond the Jico League, Mas Group Africa’s commitment to sports sponsorship extends to other leagues as well. Track 24, a key partner, has forged dynamic alliances, including the “Track 24 Man of the Match” award in the Butiki League (Kiira College Butiki Alumni) and sponsorship for Window FC. The Chaapa League (Mbarara High Alumni) is not left out of this expansive vision, with Volta Arena proudly supporting grassroots football. This multifaceted approach underscores Mas Group Africa’s holistic dedication to supporting sports at various levels.
